My Kubernetes Home Lab
My Homelab
This project documents my work on a local, home based, kubernetes platform. The version 1 tag represents my first version in 2021, where I implemented microk8s. While poorly documented in the repository, I successfully launched and maintained a full kubernetes cluster (1 control & 2 worker nodes) and deployed custom applications built with micro-services architectures via helm charts.
Now, in 2026, I am taking a more deliberate approach to this project. I have developed and continue to refine a Gemini GEM, customized to be an expert GitOps Platform Engineer, that serves as my guide and assistant. I employ Agile Project Management practices and Software Systems Engineering principles to learn from our work and interactions and continuously improve our way of working. Ultimately, with the help of the assistant, I will develop a well architected, opinionated, and fully documented platform that is far more complete and performant than I could do on my own.
The goal is to develop a platform on which I can run analytic workloads, learn by doing, and hone both my technical skills and my skills leveraging Generative AI assistants, while practicing Agile Project Management Principles.
